WINNIPEG – June 25, 2020
FarmLink is proud to launch Crop Tour for the third consecutive year, July 20 to July 30, 2020, with a webinar on August 5th, 2020. Only this year, adjusting to COVID-19 restrictions, FarmLink’s Crop Tour experience will run digitally.
The FarmLink Crop Tour provides farmers, industry, and the agricultural community with boots-on-the-ground information about real crop conditions and yield estimates.
“After much consideration, we’ve decided to move ahead with Crop Tour but through virtual means,” says Mark Lepp, CEO of FarmLink Marketing Solutions. “The data our team gathers during Crop Tour is crucial to the work we do, but it’s not worth putting anyone’s health at risk: farmers, staff, partners, vendors. Taking FarmLink’s Crop Tour virtual is a win-win.”
The FarmLink Crop Tour (July 20 to July 30, 2020):
Scouts will individually visit fields in their division outlined by Statistics Canada in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Each scout will sample a minimum of 15 wheat, 15 oat, 15 canola, and various pea fields in their area.
Participants can follow along online on FarmLink’s blog and social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The Webinar – Crop Tour Results (August 5, 2020, at 11:00 AM CDT):
Market advisors, analysts, farmers, and industry leaders will meet to present their findings and discuss the grain markets in Canada and across the world. The data they collect is critical for analyzing markets and helping farmers make data-driven sales decisions. This event is free to attend. Register here.
Participants and media are invited to ask our speakers questions after the webinar.
Webinar speakers include:
- Neil Townsend, Chief Market Analyst at FarmLink
- Bob Abel, Regional Manager of Saskatchewan South and Alberta at FarmLink
- Howie Mercer, Grain Marketing Advisor for Weyburn, Saskatchewan area at FarmLink
- Danielle Rands, Grain Marketing Advisor for Roblin, Manitoba area at FarmLink
“Even with the challenges COVID-19 brings, we still want to fill the gap in information during the growing season. Our goal with Crop Tour is to fill that information gap for farmers and industry participants,” says Alyssa Mistelbacher, FarmLink Crop Tour co-organizer and market analyst at FarmLink Marketing Solutions. “The data we collect is critical in building supply and demand tables to analyze markets and make important sales decisions.”
Crop Tour registration is now open. Register today.
