I grew up in Major, Saskatchewan and got my first paying job in the ag industry in 1981 with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, working in an elevator.
I love the adrenaline rush that comes from making sales for clients. It is also easy to get excited when we are holding on making sales and the price rallies.
My most memorable experience was filling a 10,000-tonne canola special by myself, while my co-worker and fellow sales rep was home for lunch. He was not happy. I told him I could eat later.
I spent more than 32 years with Viterra (Sask Wheat Pool) before joining the FarmLink team.
If I wasn’t a grain marketing advisor I’d be a professional baseball player. Or I guess at my age, I would have to be a coach in the big leagues.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy coaching ball, volunteering, curling and doing yardwork. I also love to fire up the barbeque or smoker on the deck and entertain friends.
I throw a football with my right hand and a baseball with my left.
