I grew up on a grain farm in Kyle, Saskatchewan. My Mom and Dad are still farming there. I knew I would never be bored with agriculture, there is always something exciting to learn.
My first job in the ag industry was as a summer student with Monsanto in 1997, but I began my career in ag as an analyst with the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation.
What gets me excited about what we do is dealing with several different crops, each with its own supply/demand and risk/reward profile. I find farm level marketing fascinating. Every day is a challenge – bridging the world and making it relevant to the farm gate.
My career has included roles with John Deere and New Holland, on the stock desk of TD Waterhouse, as assistant lender with FCC and as a consulting agronomist with GreenKey Production Services. I have a degree in Agriculture Economics and a Master's in Economics.
For fun, I like golfing. I volunteer as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current.
