Near Archerwill, Saskatchewan.
I grew up on a farm. My first unofficial job was handing tools to my grandfather as we fixed machinery, and then eventually working my way up to managing my own acres. My first off farm grain marketing job was brokering cash grains.
It is a true privilege to be trusted the way our clients trust us to help them make effective marketing decisions. We get to build relationships with some of the top farms in Saskatchewan.
Having clients deliver their 2013 crops against contracts made prior to the large crop in Western Canada that year. I was thankful that our clients were able to move a large portion of their crop because we had preplanned their grain sales.
I’ve had a number of jobs in the industry, but before FarmLink, I worked as a grain buyer at an inland terminal.
If I wasn’t a grain marketing advisor I would still be involved in the grain industry, either farming full-time or working in a brokerage role.
I spent two years working in Lake Louise where I got to scramble over more than a dozen mountain peaks, white-water kayak on the Bow, and ski all winter.
