I grew up on a small mixed farm close to Elm Creek, Manitoba.
My first paying job in the ag industry was running a high-clearance sprayer for UGG the summer before I went to college to study agriculture.
Helping clients succeed and building relationships within the industry, there are so many inspiring people in Ag. Everyday is filled with problem solving, I draw a lot of energy from it. Events around the world impact Canadian farmers so quickly. It's a dynamic quick-paced environment.
My most memorable career experience came when attending an international food show in Dubai in 2010. It was a real eye-opener to see the full scale of food production/demand. Every culture from around the world was there, and despite all our differences, every single person had a common interest. Seeing all those connections made the world feel smaller to me.
Prior to FarmLink, I worked for Roy Legumex, buying legumes and other special crops from growers across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
If I wasn’t a grain marketing advisor I would still be working in the industry. Ag is so rewarding. Nothing is more essential than food; it’s a great place to be.
