I grew up on a grain/cattle farm in the 100-person town of Neville, Saskatchewan, southeast of Swift Current.
I started in the ag industry in 1993 as an administrator with JRI, eventually becoming a location manager.
My motivation is being able to work closely with my producers on when and where their grain should be sold to maximize the very best returns for their farms. There is a lot of value that comes from having a non-biased advisor behind you, getting you the best, most updated information as soon as possible. It is very rewarding knowing that I am reducing clients’ stress by keeping track of the markets during their busiest times.
One recent experience working with a producer to market his large green lentils. He told me that if he didn’t have me and FarmLink working for him, he would have sold the whole works at 52 cents… we ended up selling the majority of his crop at 72 cents and the last load at 78. He said he’d never made this much money on his farm before.
I spent 18 years with JRI before moving on to work with Canpulse Foods and Cargill prior to joining FarmLink.
If I wasn’t in my current role, I would be working with my husband on our farm, travelling and spending as much time as possible with my grandchildren.
I love to travel to different destinations in the winter, and in the summer I love to camp, go golfing, and boating with our family and friends.
I love to sing! I am one of the lead vocalists in our church choir.
